At long last, we will get to see what exactly EA and Respawn Entertainment have been up to with the gameplay their upcoming Star Wars title, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at EA Play this year.

Originally teased at E3 2018, Fallen Order was kept in the dark for the better part of a year, until last month’s Star Wars Celebration, when the first story trailer and details were unveiled.

Since EA won’t be hosting a press conference at E3 2019, EA Play will be their main platform to discuss Fallen Order and other upcoming EA titles.

So far, we know that Fallen Order is more than just a 5-hour campaign, in response to fans’ negative reception of Star Wars Battlefront 2‘s abysmally short story campaign.

We also know that, like Battlefront 2, Fallen Order will be a third-person action game running on EA’s patented Frostbite Engine.

Most importantly, we know that this game will be set parallel to the events of the Revenge of the Sith movie, where the infamous Order 66 was enacted to cull the ranks of the Jedi Order.

The game’s protagonist, Cal Kestis, is a Padawan who survived Order 66, and must now survive and maintain the survival of the Jedi Order whilst evading the Empire’s various threats sent to kill him.

“Story was very important to Respawn,” said writer Chris Avellone in an interview with VG247. “I think they do a good job of introducing various narrative layers into their games already, but they think the story is an important part of what they perceive to be a Star Wars game. That’s one of the reasons I like Respawn, because when they tackle something like that, they understand what the important points are.”

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is slated to launch on November 15 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
