First Looks: Gi-Hun Is Out For Revenge In ‘Squid Game’ Season 2

The Next On Netflix 2024 sizzle reel gave fans a first look at Squid Game Season 2, as well as scenes from the upcoming seasons of Bridgerton, The Umbrella Academy, Rebel Moon, and more. New stills from Squid Game Season 2 accompanying the sizzle reel were also released, hinting at upcoming events.

Gi-Hun goes deep into his revenge quest to bring down the organisation behind the games, meeting the Recruiter since last seeing him play ddakji at the train station with another unwitting victim. However, he looks far more sinister this time and casually holds a gun while speaking.

From the looks of it, Gi-Hun is in deep, as he finds himself face-to-face with a masked worker from the game, hinting at a potential new game beginning, which was previously announced at the end of the first season.

We also get a glimpse at a new character played by Park Gyu-young (Sweet Home), who seems to be contemplating her decision to join the game while holding the signature calling card, and more of the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-Hun) plotting new schemes.

“You’re going to regret the choice you made,” a distorted voice threatens Gi-Hun when he takes a call at the airport after choosing to stay in Korea to go after the organization. “I will find you,” he promises the distorted voice, stepping out of the airport and back into the fray.

Squid Game Season 2 is shaping up to be an intriguing sequel, if Netflix’s first look teaser is anything to go by, and while there is no confirmed release date, why not spend the wait rewatching the first season on Netflix?
