South Korean Drama Squid Game Is Officially Netflix’s Biggest Series Ever

Squid Game has officially broken records at Netflix.

The Korean series that sees 456 people shrouded with debt play deadly children’s games has garnered 111 million viewers in its first 28 days on the platform.

Squid Game beats out Bridgerton of its number one spot. The period series by Shonda Rhimes previously held the top spot with 82 million viewers. Other shows in the top 10 that Squid Game surpassed includes The Witcher, Tiger King, Stranger Things, and more.

Given the massive success, director Hwang Dong-hyuk has started thinking of a potential season two. Netflix has also released official merchandise and Zoom backgrounds in celebration of the show’s success and popularity.
