It’s official – Snowpiercer is coming to Netflix! No, no, not the 2014 movie by Bong Joon Ho (though that one’s really good), but the new TV show starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs.
The TV adaptation of the popular comic book series by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette will air on the streamer on 25 May, beginning with the first two episodes. Subsequent episodes up until episode 10 will air weekly from 1 June onwards.
Here’s the synopsis of the series:
Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation.
Alongside Connelly, Snowpiercer also stars Alison Wright (The Americans), Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha, Battle of the Sexes), Susan Park (Ghostbusters), Iddo Goldberg (Peaky Blinders, The Zookeeper’s Wife), Katie McGuinness (Dirty Filthy Love), Tony Award® winner and Grammy® nominee Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), AnnaliseBasso(Bedtime Stories) , Sam Otto (Jellyfish), Roberto Urbina (Narcos), Sheila Vand (Argo) and Jaylin Fletcher (Saturday Church).
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
