Even as Korean handset maker Samsung announced its latest Galaxy S25 family of devices, the company used the final moments of Samsung Unpacked January 2025 in San Jose to unveil the return of its ultra-slim Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
The surprise treat at the end was more of a brief teaser trailer that got the audience attendees cheering and screaming in excitement, as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge name was shown, with not other information, along with a thin device.

In a similar fashion to what Nintendo did with its Switch 2 reveal earlier this month, there was no hardware or design specifications revealed, other than a short video to show its internals and exterior design. But while no launch details or pricing were mentioned, there were non-functioning prototypes on display at the showfloor of Samsung Unpacked, where attendees rushed to take photos and videos of this mysterious new device.
Interestingly, Samsung “Edge” series has had an 8-year hiatus, with its last iteration, the Galaxy S8 Edge released back in 2017. As can be seen from the phone’s design, it clearly doesn’t have any form of “edge” design to its screen like its previous iterations. So we can safely assume Samsung is simply borrowing the “Edge” legacy name for this new device. Perhaps to simply show that they have an edge over the competition, in terms of slimness. As can be seen in the photos and video below, the mysterious Galaxy S25 Edge will have two cameras instead of the usual three for flagship phones. Due to how slim it is, it does makes us wonder about the size of its battery.
Since the product is named Galaxy S25 Edge, we can safely it will be eventually announced and launched within 2025.
