It seems like a classic Ubisoft platforming icon is making his return, as a listing for Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition has been leaked by the Australian ratings board, with the title apparently bound for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

The listing showed up on the Australian Classification website and has since been taken down, but not before being spotted by sites like IGN or Gematsu. Despite the IP being owned by Ubisoft, the developer and publisher of Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition are both listed as Atari, the previous distributor of the Rayman games. No other details on the upcoming title were provided, including whether it was a remake, remaster, or just a simple port, only that it will be rated “G” for “very mild violence”.
News of some sort of 30th anniversary celebration for Rayman shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Ubisoft had previously promised to work on the future of the franchise, posting a clip on its official game social media pages with a clip of producer Loic Gounon stating that “a very talented team at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are currently working together on the future of Rayman.”

Rayman made his debut in the eponymous 1995 game for the Atari Jaguar, PlayStation, Sega Saturn and MS-DOS, and the franchise would go on to receive 45 games and spin-offs across multiple platforms, with its most recent entry being 2013’s Rayman Legends.
The apparent existence of Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition also comes at a rather turbulent time for Ubisoft, as it follows a string of cancellations and shake-ups at the studio, including the recent axing of the much-anticipated Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, but at least for now, it looks like the limbless platforming hero has survived the chopping board.
