Prime Video’s ‘Invincible’ Lives On With Early Season 5 Renewal

Prime Video’s adult animated superhero series, Invincible, is further cementing its future, with the show receiving an early Season 5 renewal even before the fourth season’s debut on Amazon’s streaming platform in 2026.

The news was unveiled via a short clip on Prime Video’s YouTube channel, which not only confirmed the fifth season but also revealed that its voice recording has been completed. This early renewal also comes a mere four months after the finale of the show’s third season in March this year, and follows a recurring trend by Prime Video to renew seasons way beforehand, with both its third and fourth seasons being ordered before the debut of its predecessor.

Additionally, it was also announced by Variety that Welsh actor Matthew Rhys (The Americans, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood) has been attached to the voice cast of Season 4, although no specific details on which character he would portray were revealed.

Although unconfirmed at this point, one possible character that Rhys might voice would be Grand Regent Thragg, the main villain of the original comic series by Image Comics. The character was announced to be part of the show’s upcoming fourth season back in March, with series creator Robert Kirkman stating during a previous interview that “it would certainly be weird if [Thragg] didn’t show up in the show”.

Season 5’s early renewal comes after Invincible’s recent accomplishment, with the show securing its second Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance category for its leading voice actor, Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Mayhem). The show also stars Gillian Jacobs (Community) as Atom Eve, J. K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Omni-Man, Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) as Debbie Grayson and Clancy Brown (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Damien Darkblood.

This certainly marks something for fans to look forward to, as Invincible approaches its Season 4 debut on Prime Video in 2026.
