Amazon is bringing the world of Fallout to life once again, as the studio has greenlit Fallout Shelter, an upcoming reality competition series based on the games and its live-action series counterpart.

As reported by Deadline, the ten-part series will be based on both the Ella Purnell-led dystopian drama, which was released in 2024 and has spanned two seasons to date, as well as the 2015 free-to-play management simulation game of the same name, which was a mobile counterpart to the mainline gaming franchise.
Hailing from Studio Lambert, the minds behind other reality competitions based on familiar series IPs like Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge (2023), Fallout Shelter will see a group of contestants take part in “escalating challenges, strategic dilemmas, and moral crossroads” in hopes of a cash prize, with the show set within the franchise’s iconic Vault-Tec vaults.
Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, executive producers on the Fallout TV series, will also work on Fallout Shelter under their production company, Kilter Films, alongside Amazon MGM Studios and Bethesda Game Studios.

This news comes amidst the second season of Amazon’s Fallout series, which premiered in December 2025 and is currently on its fifth episode. The show stars Purnell alongside Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Moisés Arias and Kyle MacLachlan as Lucy MacLean, Maximus, the Ghoul, Norm MacLean and Hank MacLean, respectively, and has also previously secured an early Season Three renewal, with its showrunners explaining that their goal is to avoid the common issue of long wait times in between TV series seasons to retain audience attention.
