PlayStation’s Streaming A Death Stranding Teaser On Twitch Right Now And It Is Creepy

You can now watch Death Stranding on the official PlayStation Twitch account. To be exact, it is not the actual game that is being played but a teaser of sorts and it is just as weird as you’d expect a teaser from Death Stranding to be.

PlayStation’s official Twitch account is currently looping a video featuring a series of handprints appearing and disappearing in a mass of inky black goo, and where the handprints appear, you can see little bits and pieces of Death Stranding in the background.

The video is accompanied by creepy ambient music that is usually just dull, dreary industrial sounds, coupled with the howling of the wind and an all too ominous humming. Though occasionally you can hear a woman say, “It’s what we need right now; not to stand apart but to come together.” What does it mean? Nobody knows, for now.

The teaser is definitely creepy and weird enough to be completely on brand for Death Stranding, and Kojima Productions, the studio behind the game. As of writing, the video has amassed a combined total of over 22 million views, with over eight thousand watching it live on Twitch.

We’ve sure got to hand it to Kojima and Sony, they definitely know the way to hype up the reveal of a game title.

A pre-order page that was swiftly taken down was also spotted for the PlayStation exclusive.

In an earlier tweet, Hideo Kojima shared a similar video with the tagline “Tomorrow is in your hands”.

His studio, Kojima Productions, has also posted a tweet informing fans that more information on Death Stranding will be arriving real soon, on May 29 in fact. They ended the tweet with the cryptic line, “Help us reconnect”.

Whether the news will be a new trailer or a confirmed release date, we are not sure. With E3 2019 coming up, this could be Sony’s way of stealing the thunder from their rivals.
