‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ Trailer Marks Cillian Murphy’s Return Amid Impending War

There’s no rest for the wicked, and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man looks set to bring Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby out of retirement and right into the deep end of war. Netflix has dropped a new trailer for the upcoming film, coming a few hours shy of Christmas (based on U.S. timezones), that teases an explosive return for the Birmingham mobsters and a glimpse of newcomer Barry Keoghan.

“Whatever happened to Tommy Shelby?” asks the voiceover, as the gangster family leader wanders through a forest, graveyard, and home. The footage then pulses to to a series of violent, bloody flashback scenes involving the Nazis, with Shelby’s responding, “I’m not that man anymore”, before transitioning into another quick-cut sequence: a building blows up, a red scarf is placed over a tombstone, and a coin spins.

A second voice tells Shelby, “You gotta come back,” and he slam his hands down on a table, triggering the last wave of scenes that include machine gun shooting, a pocket watch, burning photos, and an encounter with Keoghan’s character. The one-minute trailer ends with Shelby’s signature swagger, and while it doesn’t show a lot, fans should catch a couple of Easter eggs in it.
