After months of teasing, the highly-anticipated prequel to phenomenal game sensation Red Dead Redemption finally has an official release date.

Taking to Twitter, developer Rockstar Games unveiled the magic date to be October 26, 2018, dispelling early reports that the game was slated for launch in June and July.

After apologising to fans for the delay, which was initially planned for a 2017 release, the company promises that the extra time was wisely used to polish up Red Dead Redemption 2, and hopes they would also agree that “the wait will have been worth it.” No additional details about the game were given, but more information will be shared in the coming weeks, so do keep a lookout!

In the meantime, here are some gorgeous visuals to feast upon.

We simply can’t wait for the day badassery swings around, with gunslinging battles, horse riding, and redemption arcs in tow!
