New ‘Witcher 3’ Fight Scene Teased At Netflix TUDUM 2023

The Witcher Season 3 Volume 1 is less than two weeks away from streaming on Netflix (29 June), and the entertainment company has decided to gift fans a little sneak peek to tide them over.

The fight scene ties in with how The Witcher Season 2 ended, where it is revealed that Ciri (Freya Allan)’s birth father, Emhyr var Emreis (Bart Edwards), is The White Flame, and the entire Continent is now looking for her.

In an interview with Tudum, Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Mission: Impossible – Fallout), who plays Geralt of Rivia, emphasises the extent to which Ciri is now in danger.

“Now, there is a real threat,” Cavill tells Tudum. It’s genuine; it’s no longer theoretical — it’s practical. And it’s very, very dangerous. They are walking into the lion’s den everywhere they go.”

Ciri will not be left unprepared, not while under the tutelage of Geralt and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). One will be honing her combat skills while the other teaches her to control the overwhelming magic inside her.

This fight scene is just a taste of what will come as Collider teases that a battle of epic proportions is set somewhere in Season 3

“The series’s most significant battle, the Thanedd Coup, will happen in Aretuza during a critical moment involving all the main characters and hundreds of extras. This big battle will occur after a ball, which was shooting as we took our set tour — and, just for the record, Geralt and Yennefer look great dancing together.”

The 8-episode arc of The Witcher Season 3 will be split into two parts, with Volume 1 containing episodes 1 through 5 and Volume 2 (27 July) containing episodes 6 through 8. Volume 2 will also be the last to feature Henry Cavill as the White Wolf before passing the mantle to Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games, The Dressmaker).
