Unlike 2019’s Pearson, Suits will not be a reboot or a revival, nor a spinoff. It would be a new series in the Suits universe and feature new characters in a new location. The new series will reportedly be based in Los Angeles (via Deadline). This is a similar format to the CSI and NCIS franchises.

The original legal drama followed lawyers in a New York City corporate law firm as they used clever tactics to win lawsuits and close cases. The show primarily focused on attorney Harvey Specter and his protégé Mike Ross, despite the latter never graduating law school.

This news come after the show’s ongoing success on Netflix. It became the most streamed title in the United States when it premiered and landed the No.1 spot on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for the 12th week.

Suits ran for nine seasons from 2011 and led to the spinoff Pearson, following Gina Torres’ character Jessica Pearson. Pearson only lasted one season. The original Suits starred Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Torres and Amanda Schull.
