Netflix’s Transformers: War for Cybertron: Earthrise Trailer Teases Galvatron, Unicron, And… Nemesis Prime?!

It’s only been a few months since we saw that cliffhanger ending in Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege on Netflix earlier this year. But as we know, that was only the first in a three-part animated trilogy series planned for the streamer, with two more installments set to launch.

The next part of the trilogy, Transformers: War for Cybertron: Earthrise, sees the (mis)adventures of the Autobots and Decepticons in both Cybertron and Planet Earth respectively, as they vie for control over the AllSpark.

The new trailer above gives us a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming second act. More importantly, they tease the debuts of two fearsome entities: Unicron and Galvatron.

The former takes on the form of his iconic planet-destroying form, which is also a planet in and of itself, while the latter appears ominously behind Megatron. For hardened fans of the series, it will be interesting to see Galvatron and Megatron appear on-screen together, seeing as they are essentially the same being. Could this mean the introduction of some alternate universe, or some form of time-traveling?

Also, did we just catch a glimpse of Optimus Prime’s dark alter ego, Nemesis Prime?

So many questions seem to arise from this two-minute trailer. But perhaps all will be revealed when Earthrise drops on Netflix on 30 December.
