Ms Marvel Disney+ Show Reportedly Starts Filming This Summer

While we’re all eagerly anticipating the release of Marvel Disney+ TV shows in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision later this year, another series in the form of Ms Marvel could already be in the making.

First announced at D23 Expo 2019, the series starring Marvel Comics’ first Muslim superhero, Kamala Khan, the new show appears to begin production sometime in July 2020, with other Disney+ titles Moon Knight and She-Hulk also in pre-production.

According to Illuminerdi, whoever is part of the Ms Marvel cast “has to be available to film between July 2020 and June 2021”. If the sources are true and the show begins production at the earliest possible date, then we could even expect to see the show air as early as 2021.

With Ms Marvel slated to begin filming soon, it wouldn’t hurt to also speculate if the character could appear in the upcoming Captain Marvel 2, which recently began development. If you’re unfamiliar with the comics, Kamala Khan and Carol Danvers actually have quite an interesting mentor-student relationship, with Danvers showing Khan the ropes on how to be a superhero.

In any case, this is all speculation for now, but it would be interesting to see the two share the limelight in Marvel Studios’ big screen. For now, we’ll just patiently wait for Kamala Khan to make her debut on Disney+.
