‘Mortal Kombat 1’ To Deliver 100GB Fatality To Your Hard Drive

It might be time to bid farewell to some outdated games occupying your computer’s storage, as the reboot of Mortal Kombat 1 promises to deliver a whopping 100GB data punch.

In honour of its 30th anniversary, the Mortal Kombat series is ushering in a fresh chapter with a new sequel-reboot, unveiled last week by NetherRealm Studios. According to the game’s specifications on the Steam platform, a hefty 100GB of available storage space is needed to ensure a seamless installation on your PC.

At a minimum, your PC must be equipped with a 64-bit processor and ideally, a Windows 10 operating system. The processor should either be Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 or Ryzen 5 2600, with at least 8GB RAM.

For the graphics, the game demands a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, AMD Radeon RX 470, or Intel Arc A750 GPU. It’s important to note that DirectX must be Version 12.

For a more optimal gaming experience, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X configuration is recommended, alongside a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A770 GPU.

Mortal Kombat 1 promises to delight fans with revamped renditions of their beloved characters such as Liu Kang, the creator of the Mortal Kombat universe, along with Mileena, Kitana, Kung Kao, Scorpion, Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero, and Johnny Cage.

In a special nod to fans, a preorder of the Premium Edition offers a unique skin for Johnny Cage, influenced by Jean-Claude Van Damme. On top of these character upgrades, the game will feature a novel combat system, varied game modes, and a host of other enhancements.

Mortal Kombat 1 launches 19 September 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Early birds who pre-order the game will enjoy the added benefit of Shang Tsung as a playable character, as well as exclusive entry to the beta test slated for August.
