She knows psychokinesis and is wittier than Sherlock Holmes and now she’ll be fighting a dragon. Millie Bobby Brown is taking fantasy to a new level in Netflix‘s new fantasy film, Damsel.
Damsel is said to be a story on a young princess who is married off to the prince of a rival kingdom and later finds herself served on a silver platter to a hungry dragon. Brown will play Princess Elodie.
Brown is no stranger to fighting mythical creatures, having made a name for herself as Eleven on award-winning Stranger Things. The 16-year old is also set to executive produce the film with 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
Damsel will be based off a screenplay by Wrath of The Titans’ Dan Mazeau and will be produced by Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum. Executive producing alongside Brown is Mazeau, Zack Roth and Chris Castaldi.
Damsel will be Brown’s second Netflix film venture following her recent success with Enola Holmes. Starring Brown, Henry Cavill, Sam Clafin and Helena Bonham Carter, the period film focused on the young female Holmes saw Netflix users watching nearly 1.17 billion minutes of the 121-minute film.
Apart from Damsel, Brown will also star in the upcoming 2021 Godzilla vs Kong film, a sequel to the 2019 Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
