‘Knives Out’ And ‘Sesame Street’ Collide In Adorable ‘Forks Out’ Netflix Short

Ahead of the launch of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the next chapter in the Daniel Craig-led mystery film series on Netflix, the streamer has released a lighthearted crossover clip featuring iconic characters from the long-running educational children’s show, Sesame Street.

The five-minute-long short, titled Forks Out, follows the mystery of Cookie Monster’s triple berry pie, which has been eaten by an unknown party. To solve the case, the gang employs the world’s greatest detective, Beignet Blanc, a puppet representation of Craig’s character in the Knives Out films, Benoit Blanc, who promptly breaks down the case in a fittingly Sesame Street-esque fashion, filled with humorous quips, references to the films, and of course, a moral of the story at the end, which you can check out in the full clip above.

The humorous short follows the long-running fan requests for the murder mystery franchise to cross over with the Muppets, and although it isn’t exactly what fans have been asking for, it’s certainly the next best thing. This IP mashup is also rather apt for Netflix, with the streamer recently saving the Sesame Street IP by acquiring it following the end of the show’s partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and HBO, signing a deal with Sesame Workshop to air new episodes on both Netflix and PBS.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

The clip also marks the upcoming launch of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which is set to premiere on Netflix on 12 December. The film, which will be the third chapter in the mystery film series following 2019’s Knives Out and 2022’s Glass Onion, sees Craig’s Blanc returning to solve the murder of a priest, Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin, Weapons), alongside his new subordinate Rev. Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor, The Durrells).

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is now showing in selected cinemas in the United States and will premiere on Netflix on 12 December 2025.
