John Wick Spin-off ‘Ballerina’ With Ana de Armas Set For June 2024

The overwhelming box office success of John Wick: Chapter 4 is proof that fans just can’t get enough of the world and lore of the Wick-verse. Fans will be delighted to know that they can dive back into the Wick-verse in full cinema glory roughly a year from now.

Lionsgate has set the spin-off film of the John Wick franchise Ballerina’ to hit the big screen on June 7, 2024, and will star rising Spanish-Cuban actress Ana de Armas (Knives Out, No Time to Die).

de Armas will be playing Rooney, replacing American ballet dancer Unity Phelan who portrayed the same character in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, as an assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma seeking revenge for the murder of her family.

John Wick Spinoff Ballerina

The script for Ballerina is written by Shay Hatten, writer for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and is being produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski, of whom, had directed John Wick: Chapter 4.

In addition to Ballerina, fans can also look forward to experiencing the intrigues of Wick-verse’s criminal underworld with the franchise’s upcoming Lionsgate TV-produced series The Continental, telling the stories preceding the events of John Wick.

With the possibility of John Wick: Chapter 5 on the high table (Pun intended), ‘Ballerina’ will most certainly contribute to the overall lore of the Wick-verse.
