Over a year after Disney officially acquired 20th Century Fox, and with it the many titles in its catalogue, it’s been announced that a new Fantastic Four film is in the works, and it will be directed by Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home’s director Jon Watts.
At this point, not much else is known about the upcoming movie, beyond who will be directing it. But the prospect of having the Fantastic Four, also known as “Marvel’s First Family”, interacting with the rest of the stars in the MCU is certainly an exciting one.
The superhero quarter has received their fair share of film adaptations in the past, from The Fantastic Four in 1994 to 2015’s Fantastic Four by Josh Trank.
Aside from the upcoming film, Disney has also announced that 10 Marvel shows will be released on Disney+ in the next few years.
A release date for Fantastic Four has yet to be announced.
