Erica Durance Returns As Lois Lane To Tom Welling’s Superman In Arrowverse Crossover

Smallville fans were ecstatic when it was announced that Tom Welling will be reprising his role as Clark Kent, aka Superman, for the Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths. This announcement set the ball rolling and fans were wondering if other Smallville characters will be joining Welling in the crossover.

Lo and behold, another Smallville character will indeed be joining Welling for ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ and it is none other than Erica Durance, who will be reprising her role as Lois Lane in multiple episodes across the five-night event.

Acording to Deadline who first reported the news, the crossover will shed light on where Welling’s Clark Kent and Durance’s Louis Lane have been in the near-decade since the end of Smallville. The crossover will also feature Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh as other versions of Clark Kent/Superman though as far as we know, there are no plans for multiple incarnations of Lois Lane played by actresses who have taken on the role before.

Co-creator and executive producer of Arrow Marc Guggenheim hinted that the crossover will be paying homage to Smallville in the casting announcement for Welling, “For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it.”

The upcoming mega-crossover will help to unite the entire Arrowverse series, including Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. It will be a five-episode epic, with three episodes airing in December, and the two final instalments airing in January.
