EpiCentre, the first Apple Premium Reseller in the region, has finally made the move into the online marketplace, as a new EpiCentre shopfront will be launched on Shopee on Monday, 30 July 2018.
The partnership with Shopee seeks to drive overall sales of Apple products through resellers, likely due to the impact that the official, physical Apple store has had on sales numbers. The opening of Singapore’s first Apple store is the main reason behind the recent sale of the EpiCentre brand from its parent company to Elush Retail Group, which manages iStudio, another Apple Premium Reseller. Elush now manages the 4 existing EpiCentre stores in Singapore.
To celebrate the opening of its online storefront, EpiCentre is having some great deals on Apple products from 30 July to 5 August 2018.
All EpiCentre products on Shopee, including iPhones, iPads and Macs will be selling at 7% off their retail prices, effectively negating the GST that you would have to pay on your purchases. However, this deal does not include the newly launched 2018 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Tough luck for those wanting that new i9 MacBook Pro.
Popular Apple products such as the AirPods and the iPhone X will be available at even greater discounts for limited time periods within these two days.
The must-buy flash deal is the AirPods, available on midnight of 30 July, which are going for $187 instead of the usual retail price of $238.
From 1 to 5 August, shoppers will be able to enjoy varying discounts off their AppleCare purchase, dependent on the product purchased. The discounts range from 15% to up to 26%. It is a great deal if you were looking to renew your expired AppleCare, or extend your existing one.
EpiCentre’s Guarantee Buy Back Programme
All iPhone, iPad and MacBook purchases made on Shopee’s official EpiCentre store will be covered by the EpiCentre Guarantee Buy Back Programme. The Guarantee Buy Back Programme is a trade-in program for Apple products, run by EpiCentre. It essentially ensures that your device has a fixed trade-in value, as long as you trade it in within the stipulated time period. For iPhone and iPads, this period is 12-months with a 45% trade-in value, while for Macs it runs for 24-months with a 35% trade-in value.
While it is good to know that you can easily trade up to newer devices without losing too much value, this program might not be relevant to the most of us. I mean, who uses their MacBook for just two years before needing to buy a new one.
