John Leguizamo is more than ready to break the unspoken rule about not talking about Bruno. The Encanto star, who voiced the misunderstood Madrigal uncle, has been vocal about his hopes for a sequel, even revealing to People Magazine that he has been personally pressing Disney to make it happen.
“I’m calling them every day saying ‘When is No. 2 coming?’ They’re trying to come up with the storyline. They’re working on it,” Leguizamo said. “I’m also waiting for an Encanto 2 when all we do is talk about Bruno,” referencing one of the movie’s fan-favorite songs ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno‘. While Disney has yet to confirm any plans, his excitement echoes that of Encanto fans who have been eagerly awaiting news about a sequel, especially given the film’s cultural impact and continued popularity.
Released in November 2021, Encanto told the story of the Madrigals, a magical Colombian family blessed with extraordinary gifts, except for Mirabel, who embarks on a journey to uncover the mystery behind their fading powers.
