Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer for its upcoming superhero epic, Avengers: Doomsday, which sees Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom raising hell, as well as an army of massive Sentinels.
Announced during Disney’s D23 fan convention in Anaheim, California, the two-minute-long trailer opens with a monologue by Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, who explains that before he was Doctor Doom, Victor was smart and kind, until everything he loved was taken from him, with clips of Doom sitting on a throne and looking at a painting of what seems to be his late wife and child.
The trailer then cuts to Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards confronting Doom, alongside a montage of the film’s many familiar heroes like Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen’s Magneto, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, James Marsden’s Cyclops, and Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, all while Doom says that they have all lived “stolen lives”.
The clip then ends with a similar shot seen in the first trailer, where Thor attempts to strike down Doom with Stormbreaker, only for the villain to easily block the blow and blast Thor away with a beam of green energy. Doom then uses his powers to raise an army of Sentinels, the classic giant mutant-hunting robots seen in the X-Men franchise, before proclaiming that “hell answers to me, for I am Doom.”
With this second trailer, fans now have their first proper look at Doctor Doom’s medieval armour and mask, alongside a sneak peek at the sheer devastation he can cause, a villain so dangerous that the heroes of three Marvel franchises – the X-Men, the Avengers, and the New Avengers – have to team up to try and stop him.

Directed by the Russo brothers, the superhero epic will see the return of its cast of Marvel A-listers, including Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Avengers: Doomsday brings doom to theatres on 18 December 2026.
