Disney+ Expands To South Korea, Hong Kong And Taiwan In November

Having established a solid base in the Asia-Pacific region, Disney+ is naturally setting its sights on more markets with South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in their crosshairs.

With weekly releases, especially with titles from Marvel and Star Wars, Disney+ offers many enticing shows that have given it a sizable chunk of the streaming service pie.

In the region, the service is already available in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore as Disney+, and India, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand as Disney+ Hotstar.

Competition is stiff with other streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Max, Tencent Video and Viu vying for subscribers. However, with Disney+’s impressive catalogue and success so far, the House of Mouse seems poised to win subscribers over to its side.

Come November, Disney+ will be made available in South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. If the growth of the streaming platform remains consistent, and there is no reason to expect otherwise, we will have much to look forward to.
