‘DAN DA DAN’ Season 2 Trailer Previews Epic Showdown Between Okarun And Evil Eye

In the lead-up to its July debut, Season 2 of DAN DA DAN has dropped a new trailer focusing on the upcoming showdown between protagonist Ken Takakura, otherwise known as Okarun, and new antagonist Evil Eye.

The one-and-a-half-minute reel shows off the stylised flair of the anime, pairing an action-packed time with its signature humour. It will first premiere in theatres as DAN DA DAN: Evil Eye in Asia, including Singapore, on 30 May, before getting North America and Europe on 6 and 7 June, respectively, with regular streaming starting on 3 July. The former differs in that it combines the last three episodes of Season 1 and the first three of the new season into a big-screen feature.

Animation studio Science Saru returns to the helm for this second outing, setting the stage for the manga’s Cursed House Arc that leads into the Evil Eye arc, where Okarun and Momo fight against a powerful yokai possession. Series newcomer Mutsumi Tamura (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid) voices the new villain, joining Shion Wakayama (SSSS.Dynazenon) as Momo, Natsuki Hanae (Demon Slayer: Kimestu no Yaiba) as Okarun, Ayane Sakura (My Hero Academia) as Aira Shiratori, Kaito Ishikawa (Haikyu!!) as Jin Enjoji / Jiji, and more.

Alongside the trailer, the official visual for the first DAN DA DAN exhibition was also shared. The limited-time event will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo, Japan, from 20 June to 6 July, coinciding with its highly anticipated return.

“When high schooler Momo, from a family of spirit mediums, first meets her classmate Okarun, an occult geek, they argue — Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts,” reads the synopsis for the series. “When it turns out both phenomena are real, Momo awakens a hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse. Together, they must challenge the paranormal forces threatening their world.”

DAN DA DAN Season 2 airs on 3 July.
