Canon Steps It Up With The EOS M6 Mark II, EOS 90D, And The Zoom Trinity Lenses

When you need some crisp, clean photos and videos, many (us included) might claim Canon to be the king of these two art forms, and for good reason. The Japanese camera manufacturer has impressed the industry with their fine image-capturing devices to great effect, and it seems their astonishing streak is still going strong well into 2019.

The final quarter of the year sees the release of two new cameras: the Canon EOS M6 Mark II, and the Canon EOS 90D.

The former looks to continue the form of the powerful-yet-lightweight EOS M mirrorless camera series, with a massive 32.5 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor packed into a tight, 119.6 x 70mm chassis for some really portable 4K photography and videography. Perfect for vloggers and other content creators on the go.

The 90D is the more heavy-duty camera of the duo, which is ideal for professional photographers and videographers. The 90D sports Canon’s signature Dual Pixel CMOS Auto Focus technology that makes the auto-focus function a lot more responsive than regular DSLR cameras. The Eye Detection AF, in particular, detects the eyes of subjects and tracks them, which gives users a more consistent focus throughout their portrait photoshoots.

Furthermore, the 90D’s video-taking capabilities are up to snuff as well, supporting dynamic footage in 4K 30p/25p (both cropped and uncropped). The Dual Pixel CMOS AF shines in this aspect, allowing for videos in 120p and 100p to be shot in full HD, so you can capture every split-second of movement in your frame.

Capping off the releases will be two Canon Zoom Trinity lenses: the RF24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM and the RF15-35MM f/2.8L IS USM.

The main catch in these two lenses is the new Dual Sensing Image Stabilisation (IS) technology — the first in any Canon lens — which allows for a diverse amount of footage to be captured. Whether you’re using the versatile focal length of the RF24-70mm or the ultra-wide-angle zoom range of the RF15-35mm, you’re always assured of quality images without compromising on detail.

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II will be available at the end of September at all authorised Canon dealers in Singapore. It will retail from S$1,249 onwards.

The Canon EOS 90D and the two Zoom Trinity lenses will be available at a later date. The 90D will retail from S$1,779 onwards, and pricing for the two lenses are yet to be announced.
