The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo Is Out Now In Singapore For S$4,998

Announced earlier this year in Computex 2019, the Asus ZenBook Duo and Asus ZenBook Pro Duo is finally here in Singapore.

With dual-screen laptops becoming increasingly a thing, it is little wonder that Asus has hopped on board but it is clear that a lot of thought has been put into what Asus calls its “laptop of tomorrow”.

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo (Left) and ZenBook Duo (Right).

The Asus ZenBook Pro comes with not just a 15.6-inch 4K OLED HDR main screen, but also a 14.1-inch 4K LCD secondary screen right above its keyboard. Dubbed the ScreenPad Plus, it is infinitely more useful than the MacBook Pro’s touch bar. It comes with a variety of functions to help increase its user’s productivity, such as a Task Group function, which lets users customise app groups, allowing them to open up to five apps (that’s three on the ScreenPad Plus, and two on the main screen) with a simple tap on the screen.

Users will find that the ScreenPad Plus can be used in a multitude of ways for various tasks, such as photo or video editing, research, or gaming.

All this is made possible with the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo’s Intel Core i9 eight-core processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU processors, PCleG3x4 NVME 1TB M.2 SSD Storage, and 32GB of RAM. The ZenBook Pro Duo also comes with a “Turbo Mode” to help prevent the laptop from overheating.

Aside from the beastly ZenBook Pro Duo, Asus will also be releasing the smaller ZenBook Duo which comes with a 14-inch FHD main display, and a 12.6-inch ScreenPad Plus. With regards to its hardware, it is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce 250, PCleG3x4 NVME 1TB M.2 SSD Storage, and 16GB of RAM. The ZenBook Pro is also much lighter, and thus more portable, than its Duo counterpart.

Asus seems to think that dual screens are the future of laptops, and with the ZenBook Pro Duo, they seem to be making a pretty sound argument for it. We can’t wait to see if the ScreenPad Plus will be a mainstay in Asus’ future offerings.

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo is available from August 28, and will be retailing at S$4,998, a steep price but one that is not surprising considering its hefty specs. Meanwhile, the Asus ZenBook Duo will be priced at a more affordable S$2,198, and will only be available come September.

Alongside the ZenBook Duo and ZenBook Pro Duo, Asus has also launched the ZenBook Edition 30 which retails for S$2,198 and the ZenBook 14/15 which retails for S$2,098. Both these laptops come with the much smaller ScreenPad 2.0, and will be available during Comex 2019.
