Apple is back with another revolutionary product. Specifically for the iPhone 12 lineup, the tech giant has launched the MagSafe Battery Pack that gives the phones an extra boost of charge for the day.
Apple has released battery cases for its range of phones before but the new pack is a step-up due to its ability to attach magnetically onto the iPhone 12 phones, all thanks to the embedded magnets it comes with. The MagSafe Battery Pack is compatible with the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, as well as iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Since the new product works like the MagSafe wireless chargers, users can also use the pack to top up their Airpods and other devices that support Qi wireless charging.
According to the company, the MagSafe Battery Pack charges up to 5W of power, so it won’t be the fastest way to charge your phone, but instead will be enough to last you until a better port is found. Additionally, Apple has mentioned on its support page that the battery pack requires iOS 14.7 — a software update that’s not out yet. Therefore, there’s a high possibility that these products will only be available and delivered once the update is out to support it.
Fortunately, for those interested in getting their hands on Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack, you can do so now through their official website. The product retails for US$99.
