Apex Legends Nintendo Switch Version Delayed To 2021

Those looking to play Apex Legends on their Nintendo Switch will have to wait a little longer as it was announced that Respawn Entertainment’s hit battle royale game will only be arriving on the console sometime in 2021.

According to game director Chad Grenier on a EA company blog post, the reason for the game’s Switch delay was due to the team “still hard at work on the port”.

He adds, “But in order to do justice to the game and make it into the great experience Switch players deserve, our team needs more time. This year has brought on unexpected new challenges, to put it mildly, and we don’t want to rush anything out,” and went on to note that when the game does hit Switch, it will feature “support for cross-platform play, our latest seasonal content, and full feature parity with the other versions of the game.”

Apex Legends’ Switch delay will not affect the launch of the game’s upcoming seventh season, or its Steam release on 4 November, with players who previously played the game on Origin able to carry over their account progression and unlocks between the two platforms.
