The teaser trailer for the much-anticipated Ahsoka series is finally here!
Revealed at the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase at Star Wars Celebration 2023, the trailer featured Rosario Dawson as the popular Ahsoka Tano, as well as plenty of familiar faces from Star Wars Rebels. Some of these characters include Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Chopper a.k.a C1-10P.
The trailer also teased a dark war coming ahead, especially with Grand Admiral Thrawn returning as the heir of the Empire. Also revealed were glimpses of action and story including lightsabers, battle droids and Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly).
Ahsoka Tano made her TV debut in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series where she evolved from a headstrong student of Anakin Skywalker to a formidable leader warrior and leader, before leaving the Jedi Order. Ahsoka later returned in Star Wars Rebels where she joined Sabine and Hera and dueled her fallen master.
Ahsoka finally made her first live-action debut in Chapter 13 of the Pedro Pascal-led The Mandalorian. In the episode, Pascal’s Din Djarin sought her help to train Grogu. Although she declined, Ahsoka remained an ally and continued in her own mission in locating Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Other announcements made at the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase include Dave Filoni’s new Star Wars movie and Daisey Ridley’s return as Rey.
Ahsoka will premeire on Disney+ in August 2023.
