No need to break out the runes and cast a divination spell, because Patti LuPone herself has revealed that Marvel and Disney+’s Agatha All Along won’t be getting a Season 2. The series, a follow-up to WandaVision, focused on Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) as she navigates a gauntlet of magical trials down the treacherous Witches’ Road. Alongside her coven, which includes potions witch Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), protection witch Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn), divination witch Lilia Calderu (LuPone), and teen Billy Kaplan/Maximoff (Joe Locke), the story unraveled a mix of mysticism and sacrifice.
Despite its success, Agatha All Along will not return for a second season, according to Patti LuPone. During an appearance on Andy Cohen Live via The Wrap, the Tony-winning actress confirmed her character Lilia Calderu’s fate and revealed that the series itself was intended as a one-off:

“Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I went, ‘But I wanted a second season…’ [Schaffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons. She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of WandaVision and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.”
Hahn echoed this sentiment to Deadline, stating, “We were very satisfied by the way that Agatha All Along ended the arc of that story being told there. I think everyone would be thrilled to come back, of course, in any capacity. It was a very life-altering, deep experience [filming] in Atlanta, Georgia, with just this very small cast on the soundstage, day after day after day.”
LuPone’s portrayal of Lilia Calderu stood out, particularly in Episode 7, Death’s Hand in Mine. The character’s climactic sacrifice during a tarot session saved Agatha and her coven, creating one of the series’ most memorable moments. Her death also revealed Agatha’s ex, Rio (Aubrey Plaza), as Death incarnate, who guided many of the coven members to the afterlife. Agatha herself met her end in the penultimate episode before returning as a ghost.

The series concluded with ghost Agatha joining Billy in his search for his missing twin brother. This ending sets the stage for potential appearances in upcoming MCU projects, including the untitled Vision series. Schaeffer, who signed an overall TV deal with Marvel Studios and 20th Television in 2021, is also involved in that project.
As fans digest the conclusion of Agatha All Along, it’s clear the series achieved its purpose: advancing the MCU’s storytelling while giving its characters moments to shine. Even without a second season, the witchy saga leaves a lasting impression, promising future adventures for Agatha Harkness in the MCU.
