After taking on the Mortal Kombat tournament with gusto, Adeline Rudolph will next tackle the woes of romance. The Mortal Kombat II star has been cast in Netflix’s reboot of rom-com classic 13 Going on 30, joining the previously announced pair of Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson film series) and Emily Bader (My Lady Jane).

As Deadline reports, her role is being kept under wraps along with plot details, but filming is set to begin in Los Angeles in late June. Jennifer Garner, who played the grown-up version of protagonist Jenna Rink in the original film, returns as executive producer, while People We Meet on Vacation helmer Brett Haley will direct from a script by Hannah Marks (Mark, Mary, & Some Other People).
Directed by Gary Winick, 2004’s 13 Going on 30 follows a 13-year-old girl in 1987 who awakens to find herself suddenly 30 years old and living in 2004 as a fashion editor. It became a cultural favourite with a worldwide haul of US$96 million at the box office and major success on home video, with Mark Ruffalo, Judy Greer, and Andy Serkis also co-starring. A stage musical adaptation, executive produced by Garner, premiered at the Manchester Opera House last September.
The 13 Going on 30 reboot has no release date. Leading up to that, Rudolph will next be seen in the Reacher spin-off Neagley and K-pop thriller Perfect Girl from Hong Won-Ki, alongside Arden Cho (KPop Demon Hunters). Her prior credits include Hellboy: The Crooked Man, as well as Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale, and Resident Evil.
