A first look at Vought Rising, the upcoming prequel to The Boys, has been released by Amazon Prime Video, featuring the supersuits of Jensen Ackles‘ Soldier Boy, Mason Dye’s Bombsight, Will Hochman’s Torpedo, and Elizabeth Posey’s Private Angel.
Along with Ackles (Supernatural), Dye (Stranger Things), Hochman (Blue Bloods), and Posey (Euphoria), Aya Cash (You’re the Worst) will also reprise her role as Stormfront in Vought Rising. Joining them in the cast will also be KiKi Layne (The Old Guard 2), Jorden Myrie (The Strays), Nicolò Pasetti (That Dirty Black Bag), Ricky Staffieri (The Bear), and Brian J. Smith (Sense8). Production has begun on the upcoming show.
Originally ordered in July 2024, the upcoming series has been described as a “twisted murder mystery” set in mid-century America. It will be showrun by Paul Grellong (Law & Order: SVU), who also serves as executive producer alongside The Boys creator Eric Kripke (Supernatural).
The prequel is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
The announcement arrives as The Boys prepares to wrap the series with its climactic fifth and final season, production on which has recently concluded, with a heartwarming Instagram dedication from Homelander actor Antony Starr (Outrageous Fortune). Since its debut, the flagship series has been a breakout hit for Prime Video, known for its biting satire, graphic action, and dark humour.
The Boys franchise has already expanded with the college-set spinoff Gen V and the 2022 animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical. Now, Vought Rising will offer a new perspective, delving into Vought International’s shadowy past decades before The Seven.
While fans await the release of Vought Rising, they can check out more of the first look images below and look forward to the premiere of Gen V Season 2 on 17 September 2025.
