Samsung Neo QLED 8K 2022 Brings Cutting-Edge TV Technology With A US$9,999 Price Tag To Match

Ever since CES 2022, Samsung‘s line of new products has gotten those looking for a next-gen upgrade excited, especially those on a lookout for new screens. During the Samsung Unbox & Discover event on 30 March 2022, Samsung finally unveiled more information about the highly anticipated 2022 Neo QLED 8K, which looks stunning with its bezel-less design.

The 2022 Neo QLED 8K (coming in 65, 75, and 85 inches) is an incremental upgrade over the 2021 model, with enhancements to both sound and picture quality. That is achieved partly with the Neural Quantum Processor 8K, which brings advanced contrast mapping with back-light unit, enhanced brightness and accuracy of all shapes on the screen as well as create a greater sense of realism by creating a sense of depth.

The picture quality also led to the TV getting a Pantone Validated certification, which means that the TV’s colour accuracy meets the rigorous standard of of Pantone. The Neural Quantum Processor 8K also enhances audio through Adaptive Sound features that track and move between speakers to match what’s happening on screen. Its 90W 6.2.4 channel audio system with wireless Dolby Atmos ensures that the sound is detailed and boasts high fidelity.

The new Smart Hub classifies content, features, and settings into three categories – Media, Gaming Hub, and Ambient. For Media, users’ entertainment options are organised neatly, with video on demand, streaming, Samsung TV Plus, and smart recommendations across all platforms and services available. The Gaming Hub gives players access to an extensive library of games from NVIDIA GeForce Now, Stadia and Utomik. Finally, Ambient offers options for users to synchronise the screen’s display with the surrounding décor or to display specific artworks.

Beyond the new premium TV, Samsung is consolidating its Internet of Things (IoT) approach which places the TV at the centre of the ecosystem. With SmartThings, the TV becomes the central hub for users to control other home devices from. Also, Samsung will be partnering with Nifty Gateway for its new NFT platform. The TV’s Ambient mode can be used as a one-stop NFT platform for displaying and discovering NFT art.

It seems like Samsung will be stretching what is and isn’t possible with a TV by expanding its functions while offering improvement over the essentials – visuals and audio. The Samsung 2022 Neo QLED 8K is already available now, and starts from US$9,999 on Samsung’s online store.
