XM Studio’s New 60cm Shin Godzilla Bust Is Their Latest Collaboration With Sculptor Tanaka Kenichi

Singapore-based award-winning global design studio XM is known for highly detailed, hand-crafted luxury collectibles, and it will be releasing creations based on arguably the most iconic kaiju monster ever. The studio will be launching four Godzilla creations. This follows the studio’s announcement last month that it will set up its flagship concept store in January 2022 in Singapore.

Godzilla, the longest-running film franchise developed by TOHO Co., Ltd, and is undoubtedly one that worked its way into the cultural consciousness of Japan. XM worked together with acclaimed illustrator and sculptor, Tanaka Kenichi, to bring the Godzilla line to life.

First revealed in the New York Comic-Con 2021 back in October, the sheer level of detail and accuracy are testament to the painstaking amount of work that has gone into these luxury collectibles. Crafted on Polystone and individually hand-painted, the quality of these creations speaks for itself.

The release includes :

  • Godzilla 2001 Bust (from Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack)
  • Shin Godzilla Bust (from 2016’s Shin Godzilla)
  • Godzilla vs Space Godzilla (from the 1994’s Godzilla vs Space Godzilla, and is available as pair or standalone pieces)

While it cannot compare to seeing these 60cm tall creations in the flesh, it is clear from the pictures that the attention to detail will satisfy fans of the franchise and all things kaiju. The busts are already available for pre-order for S$1,299 each, while Godzilla vs Space Godzilla will be available at a later date.
