The Battlestar Galactica feature film adaptation of NBCUniversal’s iconic TV show (which itself is getting rebooted on Peacock) is slowly coming together. And there’s no better person to lead it than Simon Kinberg, who many will remember as one of the main writer and producer of the X-Men franchise under 20th Century Fox.
Variety reports that the film industry veteran will be attached to the BSG movie as the writer and producer. Kinberg will be joined by the likes of Dylan Clark (The Batman, War for the Planet of the Apes) as co-producer. Fellow X-Men alum Bryan Singer was tapped to direct the film as early as 2009, but has since not confirmed to be part of the project yet.

“Battlestar Galactica is one of the holy grails in science fiction, and I couldn’t be more excited about bringing something new to the franchise, while honoring what’s made it so iconic and enduring,” Kinberg said in a statement. “I’m so grateful that Dylan and my partners at Universal have trusted me with this incredible universe.”
Just to clarify, this BSG movie is not in any way related to the TV reboot headed for Peacock. But if anything, it just means there is another reason to get caught up (again) on the 2004 series on Peacock while waiting for this film and the reboot to come out in the meantime.
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
