The Rock Announces Black Adam Movie Release In Times Square

We finally get a release date on the supervillain movie, Black Adam, featuring the great Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

But in true “The Rock” fashion, this announcement was done in style. The Rock himself went to Instagram to post a video of Black Adam taking over in New York’s Times Square.

We also learn from Johnson’s Instagram that there is going to a seismic shift in the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe, impending great doom for Shazam.

The movie will premier on 29 July 2022. The movie was slated to release in late 2020, but due to the pandemic, the filming was delayed. Black Adam was initially planned to be featured in DC’s Shazam! back in 2017, With narrative changes, his own movie will be a prequel to Shazam! instead.

Johnson is evidently excited about the production of the movie to start. Back in 2019, Johnson posted a sneak peek of the first page of Black Adam’s script.

Johnson is not the only brilliant cast member of the film. Pierce Brosnan is playing Dr. Fate, one of JSA’s founding members. Along with Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Marwan Kenzari playing a currently unknown role.

We are sure The Rock is going to give us some more sneak peeks while filming. But while we wait, you can take a look at the anti-hero’s costume in the movie.
