Supermassive Unleashes Until Dawn’s Spiritual Successor, ‘The Quarry’, This June

Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games and publisher 2K have announced The Quarry, a new teen-horror game featuring an ensemble cast of Hollywood stars and celebrities, launching 10 June 2022 on Windows PC (Steam), PlayStation and Xbox.

In The Quarry, you play as each of the nine counsellors of Hackett’s Quarry summer camp. When things go wrong and you are stranded at camp for another night, hunted by murderous locals and a lurking predator, your choices decide who dies and who lives to tell the tale. Like Until Dawn, the game allows for each character’s death, with many possible endings for each character.

The star-studded cast includes a number of recognisable actors, including David Arquette (Scream), Ariel Winter (Modern Family), Justice Smith (Jurassic World), Brenda Song (Dollface), Lance Henriksen (Aliens) and Lin Shaye (Insidious).

Like Supermassive’s The Dark Pictures Anthology series, The Quarry allows you to play with up to seven friends, either online by collectively voting on decisions, or in couch co-op by controlling a counsellor themselves. The difficulty settings is highly customisable, where you can toggle components such as quick time events, aiming and shooting to your liking, even between characters. It also includes a Movie Mode, where you pick a story option, and just kick back and watch the narrative unfold.

The Quarry launches 10 June 2022 on Windows PC (Steam), PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Pre-orders are available now.
