Arguably one of the coolest comic book crossovers in recent years is this year’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by BOOM! Studios and IDW Publishing. It certainly was awesome to see the likes of Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo and Michaelangelo don their own coloured suits, and the equally-iconic quintet of Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Trini and Billy suit up in ninja outfits.
But wait — it just got better. And we’ve got two words for it.
Turtle. Megazord.
That’s right, issue #5 (of 5) of the crossover sees the debut of the Turtle Megazord, designed by the talented Dan Mora (via ComicBook.com). Just like the regular Megazord, the Turtle variant consists of five interlocking parts, which resemble the regular Dinozords used by the individual Power Rangers.
We just wonder where the shell parts come from, since we imagine the TMNT are piloting them instead.
In any case, the final issue of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will surely knock fans’ socks off once it releases in stores and digitally on 15 April 2020.
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
