The adventures of Din Djarin, aka Mando, and his adorable companion Grogu are set to continue early next year. Following a surprise takeover of the final episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, the duo will be returning sometime in February 2023 for Season 3 of The Mandalorian.
Co-creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni worked on Season 3 during the pandemic amidst Disney’s continued efforts to build the Star Wars universe with works like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is making its debut today (27 May).
In addition to The Mandalorian Season 3, the event also locked down on a release window for the Ahsoka spin-off, unveiled a new Star Wars: Andor trailer, and offered first details on Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Outside of Star Wars, a Willow sequel announcement made a surprise appearance along with Indiana Jones 5.
Set five years after 1983’s Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as the titular character, and has been won 14 out of its 39 nominations for the Emmys. Season 3 picks up after the events of the second season, and will likely address the looming conflict between Bo-Katan and Mando amidst the latter’s road to redemption.
Since the latter is still contending with the darksaber, that puts him in the way of Bo-Katan, who needs to win it back as a previous owner of the weapon. In light of this, we can expect plenty of action when it premieres on Disney+ sometime in February 2023.
