The House of the Dead Remake Announced For Nintendo Switch

Sega’s arcade classic, The House of the Dead, is getting its much-needed update through a remake that will be launched on Nintendo Switch.

The Polish game developer and publisher, Forever Entertainment announced during Nintendo’s Indie Showcase that the 1996 on-rails arcade shooter game will make a come back with better graphics, controls and the ability to play solo or two-player co-op. Additionally, players can also expect to see multiple endings to the game, a new entourage and gameplay changes.

Forever Entertainment signed an agreement with Sega back in October 2019 to co-create and publish remakes of some of the company’s popular game titles such as The House of the Dead, The House of the Dead 2, Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon II Zwei. The remake for Panzer Dragoon was launched in March 2020 for Switch.

Developer MegaPixel will be working alongside Forever Entertainment in producing the remake for Sega’s The House of the Dead which has been scheduled to release later this year.

Both companies have yet to say anything regarding other platforms of distribution for the upcoming remake but one thing’s for sure, it will bring back a lot of childhood nostalgia.
