The Boys Are Back For Season 2, Gorier Than Ever

Ready your middle fingers, as The Boys gear up for an asskicking return to town with a gory, turbulent season two trailer.

The near-two minute reel comes after a “The Boys F**kin’ Reunited” stream last month, where viewers caught the first three minutes of The Boys 2. With the freshly-unveiled look, it seems more of grimdark, cynical superhero elements can be expected, especially with superpowers buzzing around, the gruesome deaths of mortal beings, and ugly, defaced images of heroes on propaganda material. Crazy stuff.

Season two of The Boys will premiere on 4 September 2020 with only the first three episodes available for viewing. Subsequent episodes are scheduled to drop every Friday until the finale on 9 October. A brief synopsis of the upcoming series reads –

“The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.”

Well, that’s plenty intense, but in a good way, of course. On the side, Amazon Prime will also be releasing another short film during the airing of season two that details the events leading to de facto leader Billy Butcher’s return. Exciting times.
