The Batman Logo Looks Oddly Similar To 2019’s Joker, Suggesting Pattinson Vs Phoenix Matchup

There are many things to be excited for The Batman when it hits theatres in 2021.

Robert Pattinson as the new Caped Crusader is definitely at the top of that list, alongside his new Batsuit, Batmobile, and Batcycle, as well as the massive ensemble cast co-starring alongside the Englishman. However, there’s just one more thing that might just send your endorphin levels through the roof.

See, if you examine the movie’s official logo that was only recently revealed very closely, you might find some similarities to the font used in 2019’s Joker:

Coincidence? Perhaps, but we’d like to be surprised.

Interestingly, Todd Philips was insistent that the Oscar-winning film starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime would be a totally different film universe to that of Reeves’, meaning that there will be absolutely no chance for Pattinson’s Joker to appear in The Batman.

However, Matt Reeves did previously state that he has plans for a trilogy of films centered around The Batman, though he didn’t specify whether there were any plans to include The Joker into the narrative, let alone bring back Phoenix as an adversary to Pattinson’s Batman.

It seems our only lead for now (at least until the DC FanDome event this weekend) is the striking similarities to the fonts used in the two films.

If anything, this has no doubt opened the floodgates to some serious theory crafting for a potential showdown between DC Comics’ most iconic rivalry until The Batman opens in theatres on 1 October 2021.
