In a report from Bloomberg, Warner Bros. has delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, bumping it from its previously scheduled May 2023 release date to later this year.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was recently featured in a February PlayStation State Of Play, revealing the game’s unique mechanics. These mechanics include snappy traversal abilities that enable players to quickly zip around enemies and different parts of the map, as well as 4-player co-op teamwork.
However, the game’s showcase received criticism from fans due to its live service elements, such as a mandatory online connection (even in single-player mode) and a cosmetics-driven battle pass.
This delay will presumably allow developer Rocksteady Studios to fix bugs and improve aspects of the game that were lagging behind, and likely won’t rework much of the core gameplay that contributed to the negative reaction towards the game.
Warner Bros. and Rocksteady have not officially announced the delay. Even so, this would not be the first time that the game has been delayed. It was initially planned for a 2022 release, before being delayed into 2023.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
