‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’ Brings The Force To PS4 And Xbox One In Sept

It’s been a year since Cal Kestis continued his journey, and owners of last-gen consoles will soon be able to join him in a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to hit PS4 and Xbox One on 17 September, with pre-order now open.

As the deluxe version is still reserved for newer consoles and PCs, both ports are launching as standard editions at a US$49.99 price point. Players can expect a “variety of optimisations aimed at maximising the hardware capabilities of the consoles,” alongside a Hermit Cosmetic Set (inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi), Hermit Lightsaber Set, and Combustion Blast Set for pre-orders.

Additionally, developer Respawn Entertainment announced that a new update for the PC version will be available “in the coming weeks”. This much-needed patch promises various quality of life improvements, as well as “enhancements to the game’s technical performance, controls, and more”, following a heavily-panned release due to performance issues.

Despite the misstep, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor saw critical acclaim at launch, and was nominated for Best Action / Adventure Game at the 2023 Game Awards. Cameron Monaghan, who portrays Cal, also received a nod for Best Performance.

Initially released for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC last April, the sequel is set five years after the events of 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It follows Cal and his friends as they continue their fight against the Empire, and fend off a new threat connected to the universe’s High Republic era. A third game is in the works, joining a first-person Mandalorian title in the development pipeline.
