Sony Could Also Be Skipping Gamescom After E3 2021 No-Show

With June firmly behind us, the excitement of E3 2021 has certainly died down. However, there were no traces of Sony and PlayStation, or its many games at the showpiece event, save for a few appearances at Summer Games Fest. Now, it would seem that Sony will be giving the upcoming Gamescom 2021 a miss as well.

As one of the gaming giants in the modern age, the shadow of both Sony and the PlayStation brand looms large. There are millions of people around the world always hungry for more announcements and reveals, but the company is not playing ball at the moment.

Sony unlikely to show up at Gamescom.

With Gamescom 2021 remaining a digital affair, organisers have been sharing information whenever they can. The latest list of partners that have signed up for the show ranged from small to big players, but Sony is conspicuously missing yet again from the Gamescom press release.

Of course, there can always be changes down the road. Sony has been loving its own State of Play presentations recently, and that could be the only avenue we get information for the PlayStation ecosystem moving forward.

As for the folks looking to attend a Gamescom without Sony, these are the partners that have signed up thus far:

  • 505 Games
  • Activision
  • Aerosoft
  • Assemble Entertainment
  • astragon Entertainment
  • BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment
  • Bethesda Softworks
  • Electronic Arts
  • GAMEVIL COM2US Europe
  • Headup
  • Indie Arena Booth
  • Koch Media
  • NExT Studios (Tencent Games)
  • SEGA Europe
  • Team17
  • Thunderful Games
  • Ubisoft
  • Wargaming
  • Xbox

Gamescom 2021’s digital showcase will take place between 25 August to 27 August.
