Sony Announces Even More PlayStation Exclusives For Marvel’s Avengers

Not long it announced that PlayStation owners of Marvel’s Avengers will be getting the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man as a console-exclusive, Crystal Dynamics is back with more news on console-exclusives coming to the Sony PlayStation.

In a new PlayStation blog post, the studio announced that events titled Community Challenges will be coming to Marvel’s Avengers. The Community Challenges will see players coming together to unlock rewards for everyone, and new challenges will be made available to players every month.

Though the Challenges will be available for everyone, PlayStation users will have access to exclusive PlayStation-only Community Challenges that will unlock rewards specific to the console.

Crystal Dynamic also stated in the blog post that PlayStation users will receive 30-days exclusive access to various cosmetics.

When it comes to cosmetics, PlayStation players will have 30-day exclusive access to a Legendary Outfit, Legendary Emote, Epic Takedown, and nameplate for each Super Hero as they are released – this is also for the six launch heroes. In addition, we also have rewards for those with a PlayStation Plus subscription. For each Super Hero added to the game post-launch, Hawkeye included, all PS Plus members will receive a free bundle that contains a Rare Outfit, nameplate, and 100 Credits to celebrate the addition of another Avenger to the roster. At launch, we’ll have a free bundle for Ms. Marvel available for PS Plus members to embiggen our love for Kamala!

At the very least, we know these cosmetics will also be made available to PC and Xbox gamers, it’ll just be 30 days after the PlayStation. Though this wide variety of exclusive content is great for Sony and PlayStation users, it could leave more than a few non-PlayStation gamers feeling disgruntled.

Marvel’s Avengers is slated to release on 4 September on Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
