Another day goes by without the news of a new Titanfall game, but that is not for the lack of excitement or eagerness for the project, at least according to Respawn Entertainment CEO, Vince Zampella. Speaking to Barron’s, Zampella once again talked more about the possibility of a sequel, but unfortunately, there are no plans for the studio to pursue the project just yet.
“It has to be the right thing,” Zampella said. “It’s such a beloved franchise for the fans and also for us. If it is not the right moment in time, the right idea, then it just doesn’t make sense.”
Indeed, the right Titanfall project is what fans would deserve, but at this moment, it is not just possible. This follows after news that a secret game in the series was cancelled about three months again, and with the studio focusing on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the series in general, it is unlikely we will get to revisit the mech world anytime soon.
This stance was shared by community coordinator Jason Garza back in 2021, where he shared that a Titanfall 3 was still a dream at the point, with work on improving Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends as the priorities. Of course, the growing popularity of the latter has made it a top-tier product for Respawn, and proper attention has to be paid to it to keep things going.
For now, fans can only hold tight and hope for the best. Even with the slimmest of hope, a new Titanfall game made by the now even more experienced people at Respawn will definitely generate the right attention.
