Pokémon Pays Homage To Looney Tunes With Its Latest Animated Short

If you have ever wondered what the incredibly well-loved and popular Pokémon anime series will look like as a classic Looney Tunes cartoon, now you finally have an answer to your question with The Pokémon Company’s newest animated short

Released on the Pokémon Kids TV YouTube channel, the animated short seems to be under the PokéToon brand, a clear reference to Looney Tunes, and is titled Chase The Beans. We follow the adventures of Scraggy who goes on a hunt for beans and ends up finding Mimikyu, who seems to really like Scraggy, though it shows its affection in a fairly unsettling way.

This fun and playful animated episode was directed by Taku Inoue, who is best known for his work on Bandai Namco series such as The Idolm@ster, with Yoshiyuki Koie (Pokémon: Twilight Wings) serving as Producer.

Though short, it will definitely help fill the Pokeball-sized hole in the hearts of many Pokémon fans, with the Pokémon anime series going on a temporary hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

This is the first time we’ve seen a Pokémon short done up in this style and we can only hope there are many more PokéToon animated shorts to come.
